A website is something that needs continual optimizations, even when it’s built with speed, UX and SEO in mind. After a site lives for a while, it collects a lot of content, and some of the older content isn’t as necessary anymore. We have performed SEO for this client in the technology space for about 8 years, but are always pushing and looking for ways to improve rankings, traffic and conversions. For this particular SEO focus, a large part of our improvements came from technical editing and trimming large amounts of content. Through content analysis we found that there were a lot of blog posts that were not gaining attention and needed to be removed so that we could amplify the content that was important to the customer. So after removing the lower-interest content, the remaining, higher-priority content was optimized through keyword focus research and content edits. The signals sent to Google helped raise the organic keywords found by removing the negative influence from the extraneous content and increased the number of indexed pages.
